Under the slogan “Blue Flags to Berlin,” hundreds of thousands of young people set out at Pentecost 1950 for the FDJ’s first All-Germany Rally in East Berlin. Since the regular passenger cars were nowhere near sufficient, the Deutsche Reichsbahn deployed numerous special trains consisting of makeshift freight cars, which were decorated with flags, posters, and lettering. Our G02 model captures this special era with the authentic lettering “(-DR) USSR Zone.”

I like to experiment with different layout geometry and I focus collecting tracks with well-weathered brass patina. Grootspoor is a great place to go as they provide very comprehensive collection of 2nd hand tracks in different level of weathered conditions, and all well sorted for easy to search.

When they didn't have enough units of one of the products I ordered, they called me (very friendly staff) with two options; wait for new stock to be delivered to the store, or change it for a similar alternative. I choose the second option. After that, the delivery service they used led to a 3-day delay in delivery, but I cannot blame that on Grootspoor.

Company response:

Hi Sjoerd,
Thank you for your kind words and differantiation in the shipping servce.
